"Patrick Matthews is not only a good friend but an excellent artist. One day while elk hunting with Pat, he set up his easel on the hillside of the mountain to capture the sun setting through the trees. This painting now hangs in my home and reminds me of the beauty of the Colorado mountains. We enjoy it every day!."

"I currently have three Patrick Matthews paintings. The American flag and Arkansas flag highlight my game room and are the topic of conversation for all who see them. Pat painted a large triptych of aspen trees that is amazing! It is 5ft by 10ft and hangs in my foyer. It is one of those paintings that takes your breath away. The depth and light source make you feel like you could just walk into it. There are such beautiful subtleties in Pat’s work. The boldness and color of the brush strokes are unbelievable! He is truly talented.

"I now have a collection of Patrick Matthews paintings hanging in my home and office. I enjoy them everyday. Pat truly has a gift for capturing the moment in nature. His color, texture and technique is awesome! My favorite is the black and white painting of aspens.

"I now own two of Patrick Matthews’ original paintings and one of his prints. The American Flag painting that I own graces the walls of my foyer. Every first time visitor to my home has literally dropped their jaw and stared in amazement at this piece; consequently, leading to at least a five minute conversation about the painting. The painting of aspens which I gave to my wife as a Christmas present, hangs prominently in our home and is admired by all who see it. It made a great Christmas gift because everyone gets to enjoy it. The Patrick Matthews Arkansas Flag print in my office is admired by every customer who walks in. Pat is a truly talented artist.

"I am thrilled with my Pat Matthews art! “Purple Passion” is the first painting I ever bought from Pat – I was struck by its beauty when I purchased it and still feel the same way every morning when I see it! The landscape scene of Pinnacle Mountain gives me a sense of peace and I marvel at how Pat captured its true magnificence.

"At the Arkansas Governor's Mansion, we enjoy showcasing the work of many talented Arkansas artists and craftspeople. Hailing from Arkansas, Pat Matthews is certainly one of the finest American Impressionist artists, and we appreciate the fact that three of his paintings grace the walls of the Mansion, including an original work commissioned for the official 2010 Christmas card. Pat's compelling mastery of his craft has gained him far-reaching recognition, and we are proud to have his work represented at "the People's House."

We love our Pat Matthews painting. It is a painting of Independence Pass area in Colorado-somewhere we have spent many family hours together. It is so 3 dimensional it looks like you could walk right into the woods and become part of the painting. Everyone who sees the painting asks about it. The story behind the painting is that my sister in law spent a vacation in Santa Fe and walked the gallery walk for over 2 weeks. She is an artist herself and told us we had to check out Pat Matthew's work, it looked like it would fit our taste and setting in our new house. She was there in the spring, we went in the fall. All the work of Pat's on display was completely different but this painting was the perfect feeling and choice. We love our little piece of Colorado and enjoy the painting very much. I hope to own another art work of Pat's.

"We became the proud owners of a Patrick Matthews painting in 2008. We had visited Waxlander Gallery on many occasions studying Patrick's paintings because we were convinced his work would be perfect for our home in Santa Fe. His paintings are so vivid and full of life that they enliven any space. We have Patrick's painting of birch trees at the end of a long gallery in our home where it anchors a display of paintings by several well known artists.

His brilliant use of color and his ability to project a feeling of intimacy with nature is the essence of fine art. Guests in our home never fail to exclaim ove Patrick's painting with pleasure. More importantly, it gives us great pleasure every single day. We are absolutely delighted with the quality and energy of our painting and will enjoy it forever."

"I commissioned Pat to paint this colorful mountain scene, and it quickly became the 'Oooh' piece in my collection of more than 70 paintings and sculptures. I and the many visitors to my home constantly marvel at its depth and realism--we're 'in' the canvas, a sure sign of impressive work--and my daughter and sons want to hang it in their homes. No way."

John Selig by Pat Matthews

"Pat is a great guy, an outstanding artist and a person we in Little Rock are proud to call one of our own. We've known of Pat for many years and several years ago, he and another local artist, Barry Thomas and a friend of Barry's from Idaho (I think) stayed at our house in Durango while painting in the San Juan mountains north of Durango. Pat surprised us with a beautiful oil painting of a late winter scene that we proudly display.

The oil we bought from you has given us much joy. We prominently display it in a room with a lot of other art. It is a very happy piece and one that never fails to get compliments when people see it for the first time. It has been a great addition to our art collection.  "
